Thoughts on the kashmir floods of 2014 ? Panel discussion

Been watching the CNN IBN show on donating to causes. Of the three sets of aid receivers the Kashmiri, Sajjad Shaikh, seemed pretty whiny, so typical of this lot who have made a practise of keeping the country on the emotional backfoot to keep us on the run. He takes the figure of 1000 crores by Modi and claims the govt has deducted 650 cr for the army rescue effort and alleges the remaining 350 cr will be deducted on distribution of Diwali sweets so therefore all the Kashmiris have received from the central govt is 10 Kgs of rice ! This ofcourse is how the Kashmiri spin doctors reduce everything the country has ever done for them inspite of receiving the largest funding to any state over the decades. I'm not sure whether the appropriation of the 650 is correct but assuming that it is, does he not consider the lakhs of Kashmiri lives saved as a " received " in addition to rice ? The 350cr assumption is so typical of this lot, sadly the simple Kashmiri falls for it. The bottom line is all that you do for them will be reduced to zero simply because they find it convenient to play the whiny victim card on you... Some people never know when they have a good thing going.

Degrading army ranks

Dear Sharad,
I had decided to terminate our conversation and have been egged to reply because I came across recently mails, while deleting piled up emails because of my frequent absences, reproducing your blogs about you referring to me as "A Lt Gen who was a PSO" who provided unsubstantiated information. To dispel your impression about the veracity of my information I reproduce information about the traditional Army/police equation reproduced from another authoritative blogger, Maj Navdeep Singh, which surprisingly, supports my contention, which was essentially based on personal experience and not what information the govt deigns to supply. Even Maj Navdeep is incorrect to an extent the change in badges in the police took place in early '70s as I was told by then AG, Lt Gen SN Sinha that Army HQ had protested against this change when I went for my debriefing to him on my return from France in 1978. The govt's answer in support of its decision was that the police stars are silver coloured and the Army's are gold coloured and so there will be no confusion!
I have nothing more to say.

First visible dent to status which was bound to happen : Direct 6th CPC fallout
-
Before I come to the main issue, a brief background.
So I laughed when I saw in the 6th CPC report that there was an ‘established relativity’ between a DIG of Police and a Brigadier.
There had been none, relativity that is. There was nothing common between a DIG and a Brig except the rank badges. More so since in the late 1950s when the MHA had upgraded the rank badges of IPS officers, in a meeting between senior functionaries of the MoD and them, MHA representatives had promised that though they had granted an Ashoka and three stars to a DIG, the rank badges would have no bearing on the actual status of a Brig. Clearly there could be no comparison since 100% of IPS officers attain the rank of DIG in 14 years of service including training whereas less than 7% make it to Brig in the defence services and that too in 28 years of service excluding training.
If the 6th CPC had talked of relativity, here is what the actual relativity was till the 6th CPC :
At the time of independence, according to Governor General of India’s notification No F/49/9/35-Public (G), a Colonel was placed on Serial No 38 for status, a DIG on Number 45 and a Lt Col on Number 47. Hence a DIG was 7 steps lower than a Colonel and 2 steps higher than a Lt Col. At the most recent stage of 5th CPC scales, the starting pay of a DIG (Rs 16,400) was sandwiched between a Lt Col (Rs 15,100) and a Col (Rs 17,100).
The 6th CPC and subsequently the CoS however equated a DIG with a Brig (both granted a Grade Pay of Rs 8900). The 6th CPC and elements in the MoF also emphasized that they had not disturbed any status equation and even earlier a DIG was considered equal to a Brig.
How wrong they were. A recent example was of Scheduled Banks in India who have an appointment known as the Chief Security Officer (CSO) in Senior Management Grade Scale -5 (SMGS-V) the requirement for which was that the applicant should be either a Colonel or a DIG.
After the 6th CPC, the same advertisement has been issued with the requirement that the applicant should be either a Brigadier or a DIG.
And they said that the 6th CPC has merely maintained the existing relativities. Below is proof as to how on the contrary existing and established relativities have been blatantly disturbed only after the 6th CPC :
Here is a pre-CPC (2006) advertisement for the post of CSO of a Bank with a rank requirement of Colonel / DIG
Here is a post-CPC (2008) advertisement for the post of CSO of a Bank with a rank requirement of Brigadier / DIG
Isn’t the slide visible to the naked eye ?

Old post
IIT Chennai anti modi ruckus
Does anyone know what the fuss in IIT Chennai is all about ? Has the media shown us which Modi posters/ material are at the bottom of this ruckus so that people can themselves weigh whether these are free speech or otherwise ? The media wants us to accept their version that these impinge on free speech, which person in his right mind considers Indian media to be free of bias to accept its judgement ? Have people taken to calling them Presstitutes for nothing ? I do not think the Tamilians are exactly gaga over Modi and that IIT Principal shown on TV doesnt look like a Hindu Bhakt who would be partial to Modi to unfairly ban students. In all, a typical media ado about Lord knows what.

A RSTV debate in an Adivasi village in jharkhand finds that the Panchayat Raj act of 96 still remains ineffective, the panchayat mukhiya says he has no real powers vested in him the power being exercised by what he calls a mafia. The election of a mukhiya is done by said mafia and politicians and about 10 lakhs is spent on this election. These are the panchayt members and villagers Saying so. Some of this may not be true or overstated but it does seem that our so called panchayats are suffering the same drawbacks as our political system up the chain.

Great damage is being done to the armed forces of India by a petty bereucracy and a political class unable to comprehend where a soldiers will to fight & die for his land comes from. It isnt about money alone, its about self respect. Do people today understand why the Rajput of old donned his safron and went out to fight and die while the women inside the fort jumped into the flames ? With great respect to the Marshal I wish he would explain to this nation why a hundred men will follow a young captain to death in battle while not one employee of Mahesh Ambani would die for him ... the nation needs to understand the motivation it takes to be a soldier.
What I don't like about retired judges and generals is they sit on their high horses and don't speak up for the fine institutions they once belonged to .

Nalliah Thayabharan
July 1, 2013 10:48 am
Edvige Antonia Albina Maino was born December 09, 1946 to Stefano and Paola Maino in Lusiana, a little village 30 km from Vicenza in the region of Veneto, Italy. Edvige Antonia Albina Maino spent her adolescence in Orbassano, a town near Turin, attending a Catholic school. In 1964, Edvige Antonia Albina Maino went to study English at the Bell Educational Trust’s language school in the city of Cambridge. She met Rajiv Gandhi, who was enrolled in Trinity College at the University of Cambridge in 1965 at a Greek restaurant while working there, as a waitress to make ends meet. In all three years of Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure at Trinity College had not passed a single examination. Edvige Antonia Albina Maino and Rajiv Gandhi married in 1968.Rajiv Gandhi changed his so called Parsi religion to become a Catholic to marry Edvige Antonia Albina Maino. Rajiv became Roberto. His daughter’s name is Bianca and son’s name is Raul. Quite cleverly the same names are presented to the people of India as Priyanka and Rahul. What is amazing is the extent of Indians’ ignorance in such matters. The press conference that Rajiv Gandhi gave in London after taking over as prime minister of India was very informative. In this press conference, Rajiv Gandhi boasted that he was NOT a Hindu but a Parsi.
Edvige Antonia Albina Maino was given the name ‘Sonia’ by her late mother-in-law, Indira Gandhi. But there is no notification in the gazette regarding this change in name. This change of name runs in Nehru family is to fool the Indian public for their votes. Indira Gandhi’s real name was Indira Priyadarshini. In 1935, Indira joined Shantiniketan,a school set up by Rabindranath Tagore. When Indira was found in the bed with her German teacher at Shantiniketan she was chased out of the Shantiniketan Rabindranath. Subsequently, she went to England and sat for the University of Oxford entrance examination, but she failed, and spent a few months at Badminton School in Bristol, before passing the exam in 1937 and enrolling at Somerville College, Oxford where she never finished her degree. Khushwant Singh, who has personally known Indira Gandhi, has said that she felt uncomfortable around educated people because she had no real education. During her stay in the UK, she frequently met Feroze Khan, whom she knew from Allahabad, and who was studying at the London School of Economics. Before Indira’s marriage, the then Governor of Maharashtra Dr Shriprakash had warned Nehru in a meeting and through a letter, that Indira was having an illicit relationship with Feroze Khan. Feroze Khan was quite sympathetic to Indira and Indira married Feroze Khan in a London mosque as per Islamic rites Feroz Khan after converting herself to Islam. Indira’s muslim name was Maimuna Begum and later both had changed their name to fool the public of India by an affidavit in a court to Indira Gandhi and Feroz Gandhi.
After Rajiv’s birth Indira and Feroze lived separately, but they were not divorced. Feroze used to interfere in Nehru’s political activities. Nehru got fed up and left instructions not to allow him into the Prime Minister’s residence Trimurthi Bhavan. The death of Feroze in 1960 before he could consolidate his own political forces came as a relief to Nehru and Indira. Feroze had even planned to remarry. The second son of Indira known as Sanjay Gandhi was not the son of Feroze Khan. Sanjay’s real father was Mohammad Yunus who served as India’s ambassador to Turkey, Indonesia, Iraq and Spain. Mohammad Yunus represented India at the Non-Aligned Summits at Lusaka, Algiers, Colombo, New Delhi, and Harare. Baby Sanjay had been circumcised following Islamic custom, although the reason stated was phimosis. Incidentally, Sanjay’s marriage with the Sikh girl Menaka took place quite surprisingly through a civil ceremony(on 23 September 1974)in Mohammad Yunus’ house in New Delhi. And the marriage with Menaka who was a model (she had modelled for Bombay Dyeing wearing just a towel) was not so ordinary either. Sanjay never attended college, but took up an apprenticeship with Rolls-Royce in Crewe, England. Sanjay Gandhi’s name was actually Sanjeev Gandhi. He was arrested for a car theft in England. Since his passport had been seized, the then Indian Ambassador to England Krishna Menon changed his name to ‘Sanjay’and procured a new passport for him. Mohammad Yunus who cried the most when Sanjay died in the plane accident.
At the end of Rajiv Gandhi’s five years in office, the Bofors Scandal broke out. Ottavio Quattrocchi an Italian business man believed to be involved was a friend of Sonia Gandhi, having access to the Prime Minister’s official residence.
In 1980 Sonia’s name appeared in the voter’s list for New Delhi prior to her becoming an Indian Citizen. At the time she was still holding Italian Citizenship. A violation of Form 4 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, which states that “Only the names of those who are citizens of India should be entered on the electoral rolls.” When she did acquire Indian Citizenship, in April 1983, the same issue cropped up again, as her name appeared on the 1983 voter’s list when the deadline for registering had been in January 1983.
Swiss magazine Schweitzer Illustrierte in 1991 claimed that Sonia was controlling accounts worth $2 billion US dollars in her son Raul’s name.
Harvard scholar Yevgenia Albats cited KGB correspondence about payments to Rajiv Gandhi and his family, which had been arranged by Viktor Chebrikov, which shows that KGB chief Viktor Chebrikov sought in writing an “authorization to make payments in U.S. dollars to the family members of Rajiv Gandhi, namely Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Paola Maino, mother of Sonia Gandhi” from the CPSU in December 1985.
Payments were authorized by a resolution, CPSU/CC/No 11228/3 dated 20 December 1985; and endorsed by the USSR Council of Ministers in Directive No 2633/Rs dated 20 December 1985. These payments had been coming since 1971, as payments received by Sonia Gandhi’s family and “have been audited in CPSU/CC resolution No 11187/22 OP dated 10/12/1984.
In 1992 the media confronted the Russian government with the Albats disclosure. The Russian government confirmed the veracity of the disclosure and defended it as necessary for “Soviet ideological interest.”
In 2008 Sonia’s party appointed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Manmohan Singh was the only international leader to initially refuse data provided by the German authorities during 2008 Liechtenstein tax affair.
Indira didn’t have any knowledge about constitution and constitutional procedures.Indira furthered creation of democratic dictatorship, first kicked off by her father Nehru. Indira never trusted anyone but her family only and so made Sanjay Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi heroes without any deed during her lifetime. Her leadership plunged India into depths of darkness. India needs enlightened leaders. But it has been getting stupid leaders because the population at large is not “enlightened.”
For India to get decent leadership, Indians have to change. Indians have to demonstrate that they can take the long view, that they are not willing to vote criminals into office.
Indians have granted “their obedience by their own consent” to dictators for a long while. The most recent in living memory is Indira Gandhi. Before that it was to their British overlords. Before that to the Islamic invaders.

To prove to the nation that big bad Modis Land bill was anti farmer, Kejriwal found a farmer ( with a fancy house bigger than mine ) who admittedly was about to purchase furniture worth 1. 5 lakhs after being hit by the rainstorm. In all likelihood Kejriwal would have convinced the nation that Gajender was a poor helpless farmer, but truth caught up with him, the man died and the the whirlwind media dug out the skeletons from Kejriwals cupboard.
Why be surprised about farmers issues in the country. Everyone from the govts to the farmer lie in order to rip of the country. If Gajender was prepared to lie about his pitiful state, if he allows political parties to use him for their political agenda, if a farmer wants crop insurances and loans when he does not own the land. When political parties like the congress lie about facts and deceive gullible farmers into joining dharnas. When the media plants subtle messages asto who to blame for the ills of the farmer ... We will never get it right .

What it takes to make a soldier

Great damage is being done to the armed forces of India by a petty bereucracy and a political class unable to comprehend where a soldiers will to fight & die for his land comes from. It isnt about money alone, its about self respect. Do people today understand why the Rajput of old donned his safron and went out to fight and die while the women inside the fort jumped into the flames ? With great respect to the Marshal I wish he would explain to this nation why a hundred men will follow a young captain to death in battle while not one employee of Mahesh Ambani would die for him ... the nation needs to understand the motivation it takes to be a soldier.

Modi

One has wondered what it is that makes the church, muslims and the lutyens crowd hate Modi with so much venom which one hasnt seen for anyone else. He is seen as having presided over the Gujarat riots 2002 and the deaths of muslims and half that number hindus. The court has said no to his direct involvement though being the CM he cant be absolved of moral responsibility. To his credit he did not interfere in the court monitored SIT investigation where two of his MPs and 40 odd others were sentenced to jail. Compare this with their affectionate approach to the congress, a party which is seen as having engineered a larger sikh massacre of 1984 with 3000 sikhs officially murdered, where the congress has stonewalled any meaningful investigation for thirty years, where none of the five ministers seen by witnesses leading killer mobs have been brought to book and evidence against them either not recorded or done away with. The muslims themselves have suffered the same fate at the hands of the congress at Hashimpura, Meerut 1987 where the police massacred 37 of them after they were suspected of stealing police rifles.  The evidence was either not recorded or has been done away with and after thirty years the accused have been acquitted for want of evidence. This body of people also turns away from considering the 600 muslim dead in Ahmedabad in 1969 riots under a congress govt and the muslim dead in Nelli and Bhagalpur, both under congress governments.....Why then is this body of people indifferent to the doings of the congress while they will hate Modi as if he was the epitome of all evil ? Other than this he is a member of the RSS, a hindu organisation hung with a terrorist tag created by the congress over many years just as it carried out its Goebellesque propaganda aganst Modi for over twelve years. Anything hindu needs to be kept down in their own land.a supposedly terrorist hindu organisation which also they hold in disdain.
